We love cycling — and it shows. Resort Adria Ankaran sits on a quiet stretch of the Slovenian coast, where you’re on your bike within minutes, without ever having to touch a car. Right at the entrance, three different cycling routes begin — each with its own character, all following safe, well-marked bike paths right along the sea.

A day that starts with coffee on the terrace among the pine trees and ends with dinner after a challenging stage is exactly the kind of day you picture when you think of a cycling holiday by the sea. At Resort Adria Ankaran, cycling isn’t just one activity on the list — it’s the common thread that ties your whole day together.

Dedicate your morning to pedalling: past Debeli Rtič for coffee in Muggia, Italy, on a relaxed stroll among flamingos at Škocjanski Zatok, or through Koper’s old town all the way to the beach in Izola. Leave your bike in our locked bike storage room, then continue your afternoon exactly where it’s nicest to continue it — in the shade of the pine grove, by the heated seawater pool, or with your feet in the sand on our beach.

Whether you’re looking for a relaxed afternoon in nature, a short trip for a swim, or a true international ride for coffee in Italy — the cycling route starts right here, on the Slovenian coast.

• Coffee in Muggia — ~30 km round trip, easy coastal route. Cross the border into Italy, right along the sea, all the way to the old town of Muggia.
• To Škocjanski Zatok — ~14 km round trip, easy nature route. Through Koper to one of Slovenia’s most beautiful wetlands, a paradise for birdwatchers.
• Through Koper to the beach in Izola — ~24 km round trip, moderately challenging, mixed route. Through Koper’s old town along the former coastal road to Izola’s beach.

All three routes are suitable for trekking, road and electric bikes, and the starting point is always the same: the car park at Resort Adria Ankaran.
