Traditional Olive Picking in Ankaran

On Saturday, 3 October, and Sunday, 4 October 2026, we invite you to our olive grove of around 100 trees, where you can experience traditional olive picking live. Discover the heritage of the Benedictine monks who were the first to plant olive trees here, and see how the healthy fruit is harvested today using nets and small rakes.

An autumn weekend on the Slovenian coast in the company of tradition, nature and good cheer. 

Olive picking demonstration:

Join us for cheerful entertainment and the sound of the accordion. You are welcome to take an active part in the picking yourself, which makes the event a great choice for families with children.

Istrian market

On Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, a genuine Istrian market will also be open, where you can buy top-quality local olive products:

• Natural cosmetics — handmade soaps and nourishing balms.
• Olive oil — premium extra virgin olive oil from local producers.
• Istrian delicacies — homemade pickled olives and other local specialities.
