Parking in Ankaran for the Resort, Campsite and Beaches on the Slovenian Coast
Parking in Ankaran and on the Slovenian coast
Just over an hour’s drive from Ljubljana to the sea. Leave your car in the car park and spend the day on the beach, in the pool and in the shade of the pine trees. Parking for the resort, campsite, beaches and for Koper, Izola and Piran, all in one place.
Ankaran is the smallest and greenest municipality on the Slovenian coast. It lies between Koper and the Italian border, surrounded by pine trees, olive groves and quiet beaches. As most visitors arrive by car, we have gathered everything about parking in Ankaran in one place: parking for guests of the Adria resort and campsite, car parks near the beaches, and tips for trips to Koper, Izola and Piran. That way you spend less time circling car parks and more time by the sea.
Guests of Adria Ankaran Hotel & Resort park next to or near their chosen accommodation, so there is no need to drag suitcases across town. Parking for all resort guests costs €12 per day.
- When checking in at reception, give us your car’s registration number,
- Once it is entered into the parking system, you can pass freely through the main barriers at the resort entrance and the barriers leading to the part of the resort where your accommodation is located,
- Parking is charged at the current rate unless otherwise stated in your booking confirmation.
Once your car is parked, you won’t need it again until you leave. The beach, both pools, the restaurants and the wellness centre are just a few minutes’ walk away. An electric vehicle charging station is also available to guests.
Guests of Camping Adria Ankaran check in at the campsite reception on arrival, where they receive all the information about parking. The campsite has pitches for tents, motorhomes and caravans, and there is parking close to the mobile homes and glamping tents. Outside the summer season the campsite operates as a motorhome stopover, making it the only place in Ankaran where you can also stay overnight in your motorhome.

Parking in Koper, Izola and Piran
Ankaran is a great base for exploring the Slovenian coast. Koper is just a few minutes’ drive away, while Izola and Piran are within easy reach for a half-day trip.
Parking in Koper
Koper is worth a visit for its Venetian old town, Tito Square and Žusterna city beach. Public car parks are managed by Marjetica Koper, which operates more than 5,000 parking spaces, multi-storey car parks and Park & Ride sites. A list of car parks and prices is available on the Car parks – Marjetica Koper page (in Slovenian).
Parking in Izola
Izola is a fishing town with a harbour, narrow streets and beaches such as Simonov zaliv. You can also get there by bike along the coastal cycle path. Public car parks are managed by Komunala Izola. A list of car parks and the price list are available on the Car parks – Komunala Izola page (in Slovenian).
Parking in Piran – multi-storey car park
Piran’s old town is largely closed to traffic, so leave your car in one of the multi-storey car parks at the entrance to the town. The largest is the Fornače (Amfora) car park with 838 spaces. A bus runs from there to Tartini Square every 15 minutes, or you can take a pleasant 15-minute walk along the sea. Another option is the Arze car park above the town. Prices for both car parks are on the Parking in Piran and Portorož page.
