Bowling is actually a very easy sport: you roll a ball down the lane to knock over the pins. And that's the reason why bowling has enthused millions of people for millennia. An epitaph on an Egyptian tombstone hints that people bowled nearly five thousand years before Christ, and it’s quite certain the game was played in Roman times. Maybe Caesar played on the same team with Brutus and the problems started when Julius missed the seventh pin in an important competition. Who knows?

What is bowling?

Half in jest and half seriously, we can say that bowling began when man first rolled a stone trying to knock down standing sticks or bones. Playing skittles may look like bowling but there are too many differences between them, so we can't equate them.

The information was collected from external independent sources. The last six facts are from American statistics but can be generalized to the rest of the world, except in the case dealing with the percentage of men and women bowlers. In this case, 65% of men and 35% of women is more accurate.

Description of the game

A game consists of ten frames. The aim of the game is to knock down all the pins in each frame with the first ball. If you do not succeed, try knocking down the remaining pins with the second ball. In each frame you only get to throw twice. In our bowling alley the score count is automatic; you only need to write down the name of the player. Scoring is based on adding up the results of each frame. Different symbols are used for recording the results.

• X – for a strike (a bowler knocks all ten pins down on the first ball roll),
• / – for a spare (a bowler knocks the remaining pins down on the second ball roll),
• F – for foul (stepping over the foul line)

Bowling Events

The Adria Bowling Centre is open every day from 10 a.m. until 12p.m., Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m., Sunday from 2 p.m. until 10 p.m. At that same time you can play billiards on professional Brunswick pool tables. For those who would like to celebrate in a slightly different way, the Adria Bowling Centre organizes birthday parties for children and adults. In accordance with the wishes of our guests we can also arrange entertaining programmes and parties for companies and businesses. Twice a month we throw a party with hosts promoting various drinks at promotional prices, naturally with various DJ’s.
